Description

This archive is the sonic architecture of my world. It contains the stems that have built the songs that have constructed albums that have encapsulated my life and, somehow, both miraculously and through intentional work, made their way into orbit. Original demos of songs were excavated from years of poorly organized email exchanges, mixed with some fully unedited live performances from different eras where you will hear songs I haven’t performed in years. Feel free to explore the layers of the music, play with the sounds and access a piece of my history. This is an experiment in embracing the abundance of access to music while taking control of the infinite and certain chaos it presents.

In physical form, the archive is now printed on 10 deconstructed USBs, exposed down to the circuit board. Fragile. To be handled with extreme care. Not to be thrown to the bottom of your bag. It’s possible, if you push it too hard, it’ll break. Be gentile. The accompanying essay is my dissection of this archive in a time of transition and creative drought, as I was questioning my past and my future and if I was going to make another record or move off grid and to learn gardening or masonry.

If you miss out on the limited edition physical and have no desire to purchase an essay, the archive is available in digital form for purchase or theft on my website (veriteofficial.com) for a limited time. I am closing this chapter to move onto the next.

I will include the terms and conditions here so that you understand that, while you’re getting access to files and stems, you can’t release them commercially. Honestly, if you do, I don’t actually care, but my manager and publisher might.

Terms & Conditions: Welcome to the VÉRITÉ Archive. This collection of sound and memory is yours to access for entertainment or inspiration. Though access to the archive is free, there are still legal structures we need to adhere to regarding use of these stems in any commercial works. Your access to the files does not imply unlimited ownership of them nor their contents. We really want to encourage you to play with the music while also respecting the existing structures we need to navigate to make this possible. If you make creative use of these files for any audio used on social media, we ask that you tag @verite and make efforts to credit. If you plan to use these files for any commercial release (uploading to DSPs, etc, we ask that you reach out to us at veriteemail@gmail.com. While we cannot guarantee clearance of stems for commercial use, we want to encourage and showcase creations utilizing the stems. Releasing this archive places a lot of trust in you, but I really believe that trust is not misplaced. Enjoy!
